How Many Treatments Will I Need?
Keep in mind Acupuncture is not an instant fix. To make

changes in the body it can take time and dedication.

The benefits of acupuncture are cumulative, so more then

one treatment is necessary. Some people respond very

quickly to Acupuncture while others take longer to see results.

Depending on what your treatments are for, you could feel

better right away or you may need treatments for weeks, or

months to achieve the results you want.

Generally speaking, the more chronic your ailments are the

longer it may take to heal.

For acute conditions you can expect to have 5 to 10 treatments,

but you will usually begin to feel relief after just the first few.

Chronic conditions may take longer to respond, depending on

the type, severity, and duration of the condition.

Preventative treatments and treatments for general well-being

may also be scheduled monthly, quarterly, or on an as-needed

basis.

Timeline and Types of Care

This timeline shows how often a typical treatment plan will progress.

Relief Care: Initially your treatments will be close together (best results are twice/week). Relief care helps to ease your initial problem(s) quickly.

Corrective Care: After relief care, you will start to feel better and your initial problem(s) will disappear. Now your treatments can start spreading further apart (once/week then bi-weekly). Corrective care gives you a chance for deeper healing to occur. Strengthening your body's response to illness by stimulating your natural healing powers.

Maintenance and Wellness Care: After corrective care, your feeling great! At this point, your treatments are for general well-being and tune-ups (once/month to every couple months). Maintenance and wellness care is your best choice if you want to achieve optimal health, prevent disease and illness. The more you incorporate acupuncture and TCM into your life, the more you’ll learn to nurture your body, mind and spirit.

For the best treatment results, keep a few things in mind:
Don't over eat or consume drugs and alcohol before your visit
Refrain from overexertion, drugs or alcohol for at least six hours after treatment
Follow your treatment plan between visits
Keep all of your appointments, as each visit builds upon the previous ones
